ORDERING

FILE PREPARATION

Files that print right the first time save everyone a round of back-and-forth. What we check for:

  • CMYK color space -- RGB files are converted automatically but colours may shift.
  • 300 DPI or higher for raster artwork.
  • 3mm bleed on all edges for anything trimmed to size.
  • Fonts embedded or outlined in PDFs.
  • PDF, AI, PNG or high-resolution JPG. Max 20MB per file.

How the size check works

We compare your file’s detected dimensions against the product’s standard size before you pay. If they match within tolerance, you’re clear to check out. If they don’t, you’ll see exactly what we detected against what was expected, and you choose how to proceed -- scale the file to fit the standard size, or replace it with a corrected one -- before you commit to paying. A file with mixed page sizes (some pages one size, others another) is flagged for manual review instead of an automatic decision.

Booklets

Page count is read directly from your uploaded PDF, not typed in by hand. If your page count doesn’t divide evenly across the booklet’s printed sheets, we add blank pages at the back to round out the last sheet -- you’re billed for that full sheet either way, so a booklet with an odd page count still prints cleanly.

Don’t have a file ready?

You can still get a quote and check out without one. On any product’s configure page, choose “Request design help” instead of uploading -- tell us what you want (and optionally attach a logo or brand guidelines for reference), and Johnesco’s design team puts your artwork together before anything goes to print. Design work is billed separately from the print quote, priced by the designer once they see your brief.
